Map Of Uk And Europe
Dungeness . Map of United Kingdom and edge of Europe
In 1998 with his partner Fiona Naylor, Peter bought and converted a disused coastguard tower. This began a continuing project reimagining some of the industrial sheds and buildings along the coast including Experimental Station, Pluto I and Decca Radar building. In 2000 Peter established a studio on the shingle peninsular and divided his studio time between there and London.

Every year The Romney, Hythe and Dymchurch Railway carries passengers past the late polymath Derek Jarman’s Prospect Cottage and out across the peninsula to the lighthouses at the end. The peninsula beach is the largest expanse of shingle in Europe, the area is a National Nature Reserve and Site of Special Scientific Interest, containing a third of all species of plant found in the UK and a unique and precious collection of insects and birds. With its links to Peter and his work, visitor numbers, unique natural landscape , beautiful light and proximity to London, it is the ideal location for the Peter Marlow Foundation gallery, library and workshop space.

One million people visit Dungeness every year and it has now become a destination for a diverse collection of people, interested in its landscape, history and architecture.
